Cigar Places Around America

We all love the Tinderbox, but once we get out of Charlotte, it sometimes is a challenge to find a good Cigar Lounge. This is the place to share your experiences on some places you have encountered.

Of course, whenever traveling and going by a JR's, stop in.  Their humidor is great and they always have a smoking area.

Anytime you are near Columbia, SC, stop into Lite 'em Up Cigars.  Owned and run by a ex-veteran, it offers a great selection, good beer and wine, and as friendly a place as I have ever been to.

New here. Just moved to Charlotte from Orange County, CA. I am glad to have found you all through a neighbors recommendation. I used to frequent a place in Aliso Viejo, CA called Cigar Oasis. Great selection in a large humidor. The lounge is wonderful. No food served but the chairs are comfy and the multiple large plasma TV's made this a great hangout. Friendly staff as well. If your in Southern California definitely worth a visit.

Just got back from a 6 week trip to Philadelphia area of PA. Found several Places to smoke and relax after a long day of work. The First Place was Cigar Cigar in Horsham PA. Great place! Local people nice selection and have a person in the store rolling sticks right there as you watch. If you are a sports fan they usually have a game on the TV. The second palce was in Bryn Mawr PA it is the Tinderbox International. Nice selection and smoking lounge. Nice mix of peopel reminds me a lot of the T at the Arboretum! If you make up there make a point to stop by!

While in Wilson NC for business last week I found a place in Wilson NC located at exit 121 off of 95. I was staying at the Fairfield Inn and as I pulled into the parking lot I noticed a Smokers Palace located in a strip of shops across from the hotel. I drove by and found 3 chairs and some ashtrays. Walked in and found a nice sized walk in humidor and a nice selection of cigars! Definitely not the Tinderbox but it was a nice warm place to smoke and unwind at the end of the day. They are open until 9:00 pm except on Saturday they are open till 8:00 pm. Had a nice relaxing atmosphere and nice staff and decent selection of cigars! I bought a couple while I was there but smoked several from my travel box without any issue.

So, I'm in Alexandria Va for business. I googled cigar stores and found Cigar Palace, which had a Monticristo Lounge. It said they had memberships available, so I called at 3pm to see if there were any arrangements for a person on  a business trip. I was told by the female on the line that as long as I purchased a cigar, I could smoke it in the lounge to try itr out. She also upon request informed me that they were open til 10:00pm. When I showed up at 8 after dinner (yep, you guessed it) I was informed by the gentleman working that I would not be permitted in the lounge. So no smoke tonight. Thanks Cigar Palace. Here's the address to avoid: Cigar Palace, 4815 Eisenhower Ave
Alexandria VA 22304

I was in Chicago on business last week and found a wonderful cigar store "the Cigar Lounge' in Schaumburg, IL (1710 E. Woodfield Rd.) located next to Woodfield Mall. This store had an extensive selection of some hard to find cigars. The lounge was by far the nicest (and largest) I have been in with many leather chairs and 3 flat screen TVs and free WiFi. There was no charge for the lounge and they had a separate billiards room and an large boardroom for meetings. I'll definately keep this place in mind on my next visit.

Had the pleasure of enjoying a La Flor Dominicana double ligero at the Olde Towne Tobacconist (719 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, 540-371-3715). Small shop w/ 5 chairs and a flat screen. Decent selection of cigars. Friendly people. A welcomed oasis after being stuck in my car for 1 hour 45 min and travelling 26 miles on I-95.
